...pull a 220 lb. skier from the water? My husband loves to ski and I want a social boat. We found a 23 ft. deck boat that has 220 h.p. volvo engine. I want to know if I have 10 people on the boat, will it still pull him out of the water with no problem? Also, any advise for first time boat owner is appreciated!
 
10 people? The boat would tow the skier with a normal cargo of people but you might be pushing the limits with 10 people and a large skier. With 10 people in the boat plus the skier before he skis means 11 people total at times. Is this boat even rated to carry that many? Check the plate on the transom or wherever it is mounted for the capacity. Whatever the capacity rating is, I believe you are overloading the boat making it dangerous and poorly handling. I suggest you limit your ski days to a maximum of 6 people on board.
