Go to settings>about phone/device>software update. If there is no updates, then you will need to root your phone and install a custom ROM as there is no OTA update for your phone to get Gingerbread.

As far as rooting goes, make sure you don't brick your phone when trying it :)

Well, do the following steps:
Download and install Kies on your computer/laptop. [from Samsung website]
Then after installation connect your phone to your computer/laptop via Samsung data cable.
Kies will detect your phone and automatically check for your current firmware and inform you if any update is available. I.E. If any update will be available, it'll ask you if you want to Update or not.
Click on "Update" and your update will start.**

**You need a working internet connection on your computer/laptop.

Yoi can download a file off the internet to change it. I dont know of any exaxctly but search around. Then put those files on you device and run it.
