How to Burn a video file to playable DVD?

I have various small various video files I'm looking to burn into a dvd player capable DVD. I know Nero can do this with Nero Vision but have issues with Nero on my system plus $85 cost and issue finding a working pirated copy are an issue.

Any suggestions on a program that can do what I'm looking for turning various computer video files into a DVD player playable dvd? Thanks
