I am writing a paper for my English class. It is a literary analysis paper on the book To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, and is in MLA format. I know how to put in quotes from the book into my paper; I just have a quote in my introduction (as the attention grabber) and I don't know how I am supposed to format it.
The quote is "In every conceivable manner, the family is the link to our past, bridge to our future." ~Alex Haley.
I don't know if I am supposed to say it as
[insert said quote here] (Alex Haley)
[insert quote here] ~Alex Haley
[insert quote here], Alex Haley
It would also be really helpful if someone answered this soon.... as the paper is due Tuesday.
