How do you get rid of a sore throat?

I've tried warm salt water and it just seemed to sting my throat and make it feel worse so i just spat it out and when i try throat sweets that didn't seem to work either.. I've had this sore throat for 4 days now and I cant take it one second longer. I've been eating chicken soup, having hot drinks i've done everything I can think of and nothing has worked... It hurts when I talk, it hurts when I eat and it just hurts randomly when i'm not doing anything. My dad took me to the doctors but we were late for the appointment on friday so they couldn't help us. Now I can't go till Monday and I don't want my throat to still be sore when I go to school. PLUS- my birthday is on Thursday and my party is on Friday and i defiantly don't want to have a sore throat then

Please help me does anyone know some fast acting ways to get rid of a sore throat please?

You can try drinking pepper powder,turmeric with milk. It worked for me
