How do I get more seeds in a torrent?

I use utorrent a lot, but when I finish downloading the file I move it from the desktop where it is downloaded to to a different folder and I delete the torrent from my torrent list. Lately I've noticed that none of my torrents have any seeds, and they're taking forever to download. Does deleting my torrent files after I finish downloading them make me a leecher, and is it causing me to get less seeds because of that? If so, what can I do to fix this? Thanks!

In torrenting a seeder is a person who already has the complete file and is sharing it with other users and a leecher is a user who downloads without sharing any significant part of the file. By deleting the torrent file after downloading, you are by definition a leecher. The reason there are not very many seeders and your downloads are slow is because most people leech without sharing the files, so there are more people downloading than there are uploading.
