My gears need adjusting. Before I get it serviced I was thinking about cleaning the cables.
My plan was to remove the cables and pull the cable out of the housing. I'd clean both, and use a light grease on the cables. I'd then re-assemble my cables before I give it to the bike shop to adjust.
Is this practical?
