How do gadget reviewers get their gadget?

I wanna start a gadget reviewing website. Please tell me do i have to buy gadgets or plead the companies to send me the gadgets for free...????

In the beginning, you'll have to buy them. After you become famous (for example, WSJ's Walt Mossberg), vendor's will send you products.

what you would need to do is buy some gadgets and get your site known as a good one for reviews.
when you have established a name as a good reviewer then they would fall over themselves to send you gadgets.
but they will not just send them just for you to play with them you have to spend out and prove you are a good site first.
