if both cars are currently in my name? So, I have a 2005 car that currently has white NYS license plates. New York State has new orange plates which I would prefer not to have. I also have a 2009 car with the orange plates. I am selling my 2005 car and would like to transfer the plates from that car to my newer 2009 car, replacing the orange plates with the original. I will have the white plates I want to use once I sell my 2005 model. What do I need to do to keep the white plates and transfer the title and registration my older car in my name to my newer car which is already in my name. I know there is way to do it with the DMV, just don't know what forms I need or if it will cost money...Any suggestions?
