Help with a tough riddle?

Okay, here's the riddle: there are two doors. One door leads to death, one dooor leads to life. You don't know which is which. There are two butlers. One always lies, and one always tells the truth. You don't know which is which. You can only talk to ONE of them ONCE. You can't touch them. And you only have one life. What do you ask to figure out which door to go through?

ask which door would the other guy tell me to take to life and choose the opposite

the liar will lie about the honest butlers answer
the honest man will tell you the truth about the others (which would be a lie)
