We recently bought a Vizio E500I-A1 TV. We are trying to use our Playstation 2 to watch a DVD and having some trouble. We connected the red and white audio cables to the TV from Playstation and got audio no problem. However, there seems to be no spot for the yellow video cable. Instead, there is a port that says "optical" and another port that is labeled green. If I put the yellow video cord in the green port we get a picture, but it is black and white. The yellow cord does not fit in the "optical" port so this is our only option right now. Do I need a different type of cord? If so, what is it called?

Optical is for the audio signal, it is a digital signal that has multi channel information which is normally encoded by Dolby Digital or DTS and need to have a decoder to decode it. Instead of using the RCA jack of the red and white, use the optical audio cable. There should also be a component port (RCA jacks color coded in Red, Green and Blue) use this for the video connection or the HDMI cable. If you use the HDMI cable then you would not need the optical cable. Your tv will have the proper instruction on how to connect other device to the tv. Hope this will help you out.
