...the jokes depend? on little quirks in english language?? Ive always wondered if an ESL student would even understand half of the jokes?? or maybe someone whos speaking english for couple years only. take this dialogue for example:
DOCTOR: "Captain, how soon can you land?"
CAPTAIN: "I can't tell"
DOCTOR: "You can tell me Im a Doctor"
CAPTAIN "No I mean Im just not sure"
DOCTOR:"Can't you take a guess?"
CAPTAIN: Well, not for another two hours"
DOCTOR:"You can't take a guess for another two hours?"
CAPTAIN: "No I mean..." etc etc etc
