I went with 3 friends to Hanoi during the SARS epidemic and I had the best time of my life there. There may still be the communist poster boards all over, guards with AK47's outside certain buildings, and old women trying to sell you nasty looking weed... But holy crap it's cheap and people love you because you're western. Great food, cheap beer, cheaper cigarettes... I'd go back at the drop of the hat if I got the chance.

It's not the water balloons we hate, it's the douchebags from the mainland that don't know how to act that we have a painfully low tolerance for.

I've been to Japan on several occasions--it's such a fun country, I'd love to live there. I'm planning on going to Switzerland in April of next year for Basel Fair and England in 2010 for The Open Championship.
