I'm home on maternity leave with my newborn and 3yr old. Trying to find some fun snack ideas he can help with. Any thoughts? Thank you!

My daughter loves making microwave scrambled eggs for me. So easy, in a microwave safe bowl, you might have to help him crack the egg, then add 2 dashes of milk(just enough to cover the bottom of the bowl. Mix well. Microwave 2-3mins. Done.

How about jell-O Jigglers..? Easy. No bake. Your little boy can add berries or little sprinkles to the Jigglers.

Just the same as making regular Jell-O, except you don't use cold water. The result is firm, tote-able, Jigglers. It sets firmer than regular Jell-O. As soon as it's firm, use shaped cookie cutters. You can add jelly-bellies, any small candy, candy sprinkles, blueberries..whatever you like (or just solid red, pink, purple, etc) Cherry, raspberry, blueberry, grape, cherry or strawberry Jell-O flavours would work well. (The creamy V-Day Jigglers are good, too.)

How about having fun just dipping stuff into microwave melted chocolate..? Marshmallows, cookies, Kettle chips, bananas, cherries, strawberries, Rice Krispy treats, nuts, dried fruits, pretzels..Cheerios..whatever you like. While the chocolate is still melted, adding coconut shreds, chopped peanuts or sprinkles is fun, too.

You can also use white chocolate and food colouring to make colourfully dipped treats.

Or, how about making silver dollar-sized (or regular sized) pancakes (even easier if you buy the already made, frozen silver dollar pancakes..microwaveable) and taste delicious. The fun will be decorating them with whipped cream, or berries. If you make them yourself you can add food colouring for colourful pancakes.

Guaranteed he will LOVE this:

..and Rice Krispy treats are tried-and-true for kids.

V-day decorated treats are even MORE fun:

ps
You've heard of Christmas in July..? How about Easter in February? Pulling out the food colouring and a dozen hard-boiled eggs for a day of decorating is always fun when one is 3 (or any age really). Drawing pictures with crayons before the egg is dipped into the colouring is cool..he'll like that. Having his egg masterpieces in the fridge will be exciting every time he opens the fridge. (and he'll probably want to eat more eggs). (this can also be achieved with dipping marshmallows)

If you don't have food colouring kit handy..you can always do Kool-Aid eggs:

Vegetable chips, cuccumber & dip, lose sweet corn, pickles!, tomato and cheese (cheddar or Swiss), blueberry muffins, mini sausages , fruit salad , peaches in a can, spaghetti hoops ( shaped like cars or princess) peas, and ice cream!!! P.S sorry at first I wasn't thinking about the new born! Hoped this helped!
