Baltimore's police union is calling out the department for sending officers to Orioles games to work security. Mike Mancuso, the president of the Fraternal Order of Police Baltimore City Lodge No. 3, told 11 News the city needs to shift priorities as it deals with a shortage of 700 officers. The police union claims the Baltimore Police Department is taking officers from patrol shifts on the streets and moving them to provide security at the games. The union said having officers at Orioles games puts more of the burden on an already understaffed and overworked BPD, saying on any given day, every shift is short of patrol officers, in some cases, by as much as 50%.
