Do you think the movie the wall is a musical??

If you mean the film with Bob "the saint" Geldof then yeah, if however you mean the album on its own then no!

The Wall is more a music video than a musical in the sense that musicals generaly have the cast breaking out in song.

It's hardly Mary Poppins

I think it's more of a number of music videos inter-twined. Many musicals have been adapted for the stage - which The Wall was in Berlin (1981 I think), though that was more of a concert with some of the animations projected onto the cardboard box "Wall". Again, not really in with the trend of the traditional musical - the actual music is the focus, not acting.

At the end of the day, it's some pretty damn good music, and the film adds to the experience and gives you a good excuse to immerse yourslef in it and think more about the messages Roger Waters was trying to get across (and enjoy Dave Gimlour's songs more )

The stage version of The Wall was desiged for the tour. The movie came much later using the original tour animations by gerald scarfe.
