Arnaud Demare won the opening stage of the Paris-Nice race in a photo finish on Sunday after edging out three other riders in a sprint to the line. The French cyclist, who also won the first stage last year, beat Spanish rider Gorka Izagirre, countryman Christophe Laporte and Tim Wellens of Belgium. Demare finished in 3 hours, 7 minutes, 39 seconds over the 135 kilometers (84 miles) from Chatou to Meudon on the outskirts of Paris.
