coolant leak and smoke/smell from air vents?

I have a 98 Ford Taurus and there seems to be a coolant leak. The levels in the tank seem to be going down. Have also noticed a smell or smoke coming form the air vents when the air is on. I don't know to much about cars so some input is appreciated.
I can see a lot of coolant on the ground under the passenger side. None on the passenger floorboard

Sounds like your heater core is leaking. Should go ahead and get a coolant flush and replace radiator cap as well during heater core replacement.

Bye bye heater core. You have a coolant leak in the heater core and it is coming out the vents as sweet odd smelling steam.

You have a bad heater core!
