It's not the cooking of the duck really, but I need ideas about what trimmings I can serve, like those that accompany a Turkey (Bread sauce, sprouts, parsnips and so on) - the same?
Thanks

Duck is great! It's even better with blackberry sauce ;) I use this recipe for the sauce when I make roast duck:
http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Duck-with-Blackberry-Sauce-1265

(Note: I just use regular pancake syrup when I don't have maple, I use chicken stock rather than a mix of beef and chicken like the recipe says, rather than white wine I use either white grape juice or 1/6c water with 1/6c vinegar and 1 tsp sugar, for the raspberry vinegar I just use red wine vinegar or rice vinegar or white vinegar, I just leave out the cognac. It turns out amazing anyway!)

As for sides, I like to make caramelized onions with mine and mashed potatoes, but a romaine lettuce salad, baked potatoes, dinner rolls, smothered cabbage, sauteed mushrooms, potato balls, rice (especially wild rice), and/or braised cabbage are others I can think of that would go really well with it.

(if you were wondering, these are the sides I use: http://www.food.com/recipe/kittencals-caramelized-onions-89007 and http://blogs.kqed.org/bayareabites/2010/08/10/spicy-mash/ )
