Car repairs, are they more expensive for a mercedes than for instance, a citroen?

It can be, but that all depends on what the parts are and who you get to do the work. If you go to a Merc dealer it WILL cost you, but there are many independents, often one-man-bands, who will look after you much better.

Generally, in fact, elderly Mercs are more reliable than anything French . . .
 
Any imported cars are going to super expensive when ordering parts and getting work done on the car.

Having owned an Audi and a Citroën I haven't found that much difference in price - though both have been so reliable that I didn't need much in the way of spares.
 
I am about to buy a second hand car, I've been told a 10 year old merc is expensive when it comes to parts, is this true?
