I know that T-Mobile offers an unlimited-data, no-contract plan for the Samsung Galaxy S4. However, tethering is limited to 500 MB with the basic plan. More tethering costs extra. Are there free software utilities that can bypass this restriction? If so, do they violate the contract? Are they illegal? Is T-Mobile likely to detect them? Answer from someone with firsthand experience preferred.
