Can I get financial aid for Fashion Institute of Technology?

I'm in California but, I want to go to FIT it's in New York and the total cost is about 28 thousand. My parents make over 150k but, they won't be helping me with tuition. How do I get financial aid to go to the school? How do I look like I'm an independent student and not living off parents

the ways (per FAFSA) that you can "look" independent:
1) 24 or older
2) married
3) have a dependent child
4) join the military

You currently live with your parents
if you are under 24, there is nothing you can do to "look" independent


just want to point out... that isn't a total cost of $28,000 - that is an annual cost of $28,000
a 4-year degree would be $120,000

I can understand why your parents would not want to pay that!
