Big block Chrysler and Cummins adapter plate patterns help?

I was wondering if the adapter plate on a cummins matches the pattern on a big block chrysler. It would make sense because the cummins engines use 727 autos for a while...I am wondering because id like to put a 5.9 cummins in my 78 ford. I am planning on using an np435 with a big block Chrysler bell housing to bolt to the adapter plate on the cummins...will they match? Because later in life when I have oodles of money id like to put an nv5600 6 speed behind it...will the bell housing patterns match?
