About Edger Allen Poe's poem "The Bells"?

I am singing a song called "The Bells" and am reading Edger Allen Poe poems. I stumbled upon The bells and the first part (I) is exactly like The song I am singing! I just want to now if his poem is bast off of the song I am singing before I totally freak out in front of my friends.
