How much can the headset pick up sounds around you? Can it only pick up sounds spoken into the mic, or can it pick up sounds in the same room, or even the same house?

My bluetooth is really old and I use it as a mic to play BOPS 2. I've moved my ps3 and TV up to my room which is the place in the house that has the lowest signal strength. I have a dual-band router which switches from 2.4 and 5 Ghz and I've had almost no problems connecting to the internet...
