What problems should i look out for when looking for a good one i.e rust in certain places, engine problems etc? Any help from Alfa owners would be great thanks.

Recently i have come across a 1974 GTV and think they're great cars. It is okay condition having four things wrong with it, the stearing box is shot, the breaks need to be replaced, the electronics are tempremental, and the interior needs to be redone. Just bought an Alfa Romeo 33 Ti 1985, the 1.5 Boxer with twin webers. It idles just fine, but as soon as you give it any gas, it misfires like mad on one cylinder. Checked all plugs and leads, they are now new and still misfires, what else could it be?

I think the alfa romeo's have the best looking front ends around and are gorgeous all around cars. Also if anybody has owned an Alfa Romeo before could you share your experiences with it. grazia

I am looking to buy used alfa 147 2002. I hear they have frequent problems with selespeed gearbox. I am not too sure what they are but heard they are bit like tiptronics. So is it that I can drive in normal Auto mode when I want to and not drive in selespeed transmission? or does it not work...

its a nice car but being an alfa i'd be prepared for a breakdown or two, you'd be better of with a ford fiesta, much more reliable and cheaper to insure, or if your going for looks the new fiat 500 is nice and reliable
