i don't think it is i think you would be better off running long distance and just keep getting faster.
if you cycle it does build your muscles but 1. it adapts them to riding 2. it doesn't build up the same muscles as running does

I'm 16 and i run the 100m in 11.7sec, and i've recently taken up cycling, i was wondering if this is going to have a good or bad effect on my sprinting?

Great!! Any form of exercise is great for sprinting!!! Cycling builds up some of the calf muscles which you don't use as much for running- it will really benefit your starts!!! It will really help! :)

Hi,

If your cycling is for recreational use rather than a regular form of training then it shouldn't have much of an effect. However cycling and sprinting are two different forms of exercise and if you start cycling too much or intensively then it could cause an adaptation which may will effect your running.

good it strengthens ur leg muscles
it actually really good
then at the start you get a really god push off
