im getting a new laptop and i wanted to know if i could run pro engineer student version on it without it being really slow. the laptop is a dell xps m1330 (13.3 inch) with 4GB ram, 320GB HD, intel core 2 duo 2.0, and 128MB NVIDIA 8400 video card on vista 64 bit.

It'll probably work, but don't expect it to be super fast. The harder part would be how to obtain a copy, since they cost thousands of dollars and must be renewed yearly...

NOPE.

engineer only supports the 32 bit operating system and says it's only for xp.

but dell.com you can custom build it with xp on it which is what i recommend. Vista is way to unstable to handle 3d cad progams.
