Sources in Cyprus said Saturday that the Iranian ship detained there since January 29 is carrying weapons-related cargo. U.N. naval personnel had earlier boarded the same ship at the entrance to the Suez Canal and found weapons on board, but was unable to confiscate them for legal reasons.
Cypriot authorities submitted a list of their findings to the United Nations following two exhaustive searches of the ship, which was sailing under the Cyprus flag. Sources quoted by the Reuters news agency said, "on the basis of evidence provided the shipment is in violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions."
The ship was heading to Gaza carring as our Hamas supporters here and in other forums assured us,the "humanitarian aid for poor people of Gaza".
