The book starts off with a captain of a starship and they are getting attacked and the crew needs to help the captain destroy an empire before they take over all of space the cover of the book is light purple hard cover, the author in the book talks about being influenced by Isaac Asimov and mentions the book by Asimov called Foundation, please help, I do know that it's not Orson Scott Card's book called Pastwatch, or any other book by.orson scott card. I somewhat remembered it might have had remnants of Isaac Asimov's Foundation, the book I think came out in the 90's I think, it was a sci fi action book
