I've been having some latency issues when trying to record my guitar on my computer and using my PC as an amplifier for the guitar. I've found that the M-Audio Audiophile 2496 is quite a good basic card for audio recording and is relatively cheap. I plan on buying one in the next few days, so i can use my pc as an amp with no (or extremely little) latency.
How should i go about connecting my guitar to the sound card? 1/4 jack to RCA?
and is there anything i haven't considered? (i have some VST plugins and host programs)
Also, i plan to use the card as a midi in for my electric drum kit and digital piano.
