Yes, they can get fleas and ticks. Most flea and tick products are toxic to small animals, so always consult a vet before treating them with anything. But, unless you live in the tropics, guinea pigs should NOT be kept outside. They are native to tropical South America, and are very sensitive to temperature extremes.
