best way to convert 5 gig 22 minute cartoon vid to avi xvid?

I have a 22 minute video and its 5 gigs. id like to compress it so its upload worthy. what would you recommend? its a cartoon so theres not a lot of hardcore action or quality going on. im doing it for a buddy and he wants avi xvid. suggestions?

If you have Adobe Premiere Pro installed, get a compatible XviD codec, just search google for it, and you should find it easily, if not you can always use the converter that comes with the DivX pack, just goto http://www.divx.com and download the pack
