...same conglomerate, is...? ...is rich class corporate monopoly the US regulatory answer to free markets?

http://www.yum.com/

You've got most fast food under one executive clan with Yum, most retail under one executive clan with Walmart... I guess you're not worried about the resulting rich class protectionism closing out competition?

Free markets. Pfft.

it is not just the market share that makes the government regulate the market it also how the company use their market power and if they use it for their benefit and not the consumers than there will be a problem

Yes. Capitalism at it's best.
The same that will allow you to start a corp. and compete.

Let me guess, government control and forced redistribution would be "fair?"
Socialists. Pfft.
Funny how some people are always a little more "equal" than others under that system...

See, here's how it works: When someone comes along with a better mouse trap, people will flock to it. No matter what the scary corporations think.

I don't eat at any of those restaurants regularly, ( KFC maybe twice a year) .

I do not shop at Wallmart.

Am I not free to spend my money where I see fit?

Or would you prefer Walmart be nationalized and the socialists get to run the show? Will that make us free?

Oh wait, as I recall there was such a state run chain of stores... it was called "Konsume" And the SED (Soziale Einheits Patie Deutschland's) and the shelves were empty..

I get it, as long as nobody has more access to goods than anyone else, then its ok if nobody has access to any goods.. right?

The problem with capitalism is that 2% of the population wants to own everything and not share it with anyone.

The problem with Socialism is that 98% of the population owns nothing and they want to share that with everyone.

You left out A&W but it is hardly a monopoly. Most of the yum stores you might go to locally are run by FRANCHISE owners. You could run your very own A&W if you were ambitious enough.

Other fast food monopolies might be Burger King, Taco Time, Wendy's, McDonalds, Skippers, Red Lobster, Ruby Tuesday, Dominoes... and so on and so on ad nauseum.

I wish the capitalist hating socialist/commies would learn as much as they think their self-proclaimed superior intelligence knows.

Get a grip on yourself Rat.

We only have KFC and Pizza Hut in my town. There are many other restaurants like Arby's Wendy's, MacDonald's, Chick-Fil-A, Hardee's and Subway there. Four businesses does not make a monopoly. By the way your forgot A&W. They are under that umbrella too.
