Should even bother bringing it?

It is actually a 14-140mm from lumix. It is a micro 4/3 lens.
I was told it is equivalent to about a 280mm at long reach
A 280 mm lens will not zoom at all. It is a prime lens, so has only one focal length.
I did a quick check and no one makes a 280 mm lens but for the Leica APO-Telyt-R 280mm. If you had a 200 mm lens with a 1.4x teleconverter, that would equal a 280 mm lens.
You may not have noticed, but the photographers at baseball games are in special photographers wells at filed level and they are using 400 mm and 600 mm lenses to get their shots
The 30th row may get you some shots, but you will have to be willing to crop them later, so shooting in RAW would be the best plan of attack
