i have a dell e6420 and my dvd drive says "rw" but in properties its "dvd/rom" (read only memory). im so confused. i cant burn dvds! it always shows an error when its finalizing the disc. i've looked online for about 2 straight hours trying to figure this out.... with no luck. someone plz help!

Finalizing is a old term..
To finalize--a disc it to make it--un-able to write-to again../
You need to explain your video-project..
But for the sake of arguement--
Digital-video (the proper name)
Will use a Blank DVD..the optical drive/must match the format--of the blank-media../
DVD-R
DVD+R
..are blank media types../
The DVD-drive must be one of those formats..or both/called multi-format..which would also include..DL..(dual layer)
===
The term..Render--means..to create a DVD-video..playback format../
..mpeg-2 was used..
This requires a Max. Project file to be..13-GB's../
..to fit the blank media..4.7 GB's../
Mostly its best to use your Project File=11-GB's..for better quality../
..or don't make a movie..longer than..1-hour 10-minutes../
About 1-hour 20-minutes is pushing the quality issue../
===
That should FIX--your problem.
