Why is there 6 gigabytes of "other" on my iphone?

Most of my music is gone and I have tried to figure out what it is. I have looked at various sites, only pointing to restore my iphone. The only problem is I have a lot of contacts (with all there info) and i don't want to do it over again. Can anybody help me?

well the memory proably got reserved so just try to change what memory is reserved
