Why is Hollywood just remaking everything now? Is Hollywood REALLY out of ideas?

Hollywood's always done remakes, and I own a few, but things have never been this bad. For example, a remake of Arthur, the Dudley Moore classic, is under way, and a remake of My Fair Lady is casting now as well. Is Hollywood REALLY out of ideas??? Why are we getting remakes or sequels to everything now???

I've been saying it for years, that they are definitely out of ideas. But that's not the only reason. Much of it has to do entirely with money. Since they would just be using an already written script, that's one less thing they have to pay for.

There's not much artistry left in Hollywood, either. Most movies these days rely heavily on CGI graphics, which pales in comparison to mini-sets that were constructed before the CGI era. CGI only requires a decent computer programmer, whereas using constructed sets actually requires someone of artistic talent.
