...dismantled all over the world? I cannot give a rational explanation to the fact that countries with huge populations and great gasoline dependence are either actively dismantling (Mexico), not developing (Turkey) or simple making no effort to establish (Brasil) - a passenger railway network? How does that makes sense and for who? Who is taking decisions made as if there is no future, or without apparently thinking at all?
I've lived in Ukraine, one of the countries with densest railways networks in the world. The service is clean, punctual, efficient and costs around 10$ to cross around 1000km in sleeping cars. Bus passenger service is almost inexistent in Ukraine.
Any detailed explanation will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
