why dont my parents let me have a smartphone?

well i always ask my parents to get me a smartphone and they say no you dont know how to use it or you dont need one. but sure as well they have my whole family has on.So whats the problem here why cant i have one

They are VERY EXPENSIVE. You need a data plan plus smartphones are expensive on their own mine cost $250 plus unlimited data for internet use now my parents have to pay an extra $60 on their bill

Let me guess, you want an iPhone, not a Blackberry or Windows 7, right? All the cool kids (coz ALL of them are cool, right?) have iPhones and nothing else will do or your business and personal mobility 'needs'
