Why does my amp turn off?

I have two kickers CVR and they are both 800 watts rms,i have a 1250 watt power acoustik amp,i have the two speakers in a box and i have them bridged to the amp,when i turn my stereo passed 20 the amp shuts off and a red lights comes on,i have not messed with any settings on the amp or the stereo,what is causing this to do this?
i have my kickers wired for 4 ohm,pos to pos and neg to neg please help

If your subs are BOTH 800rms each, then you are not giving them nearly enough power. Generally speaking it is more dangerous to under power then to over power. You should always be running stereo equipment at rms wattage. just because your amp says 1250 watts.. does not mean you are getting that much.. you could be getting a third of that. I've seen amps rated for 10,000 watts that you woudl only get 400watts out of. If your amp is turning off, then you could start with checking the ground wire or the remote wire.
