Why do they make such small back seats in some cars?

why do they make some cars with the back seats have absolutly no leg room at all. like nobody could fit back there so why do they put it in????

So they can say it holds more people so they can charge more but they dont have to pay extra for materials. Its all about profit

Insurance is a lot cheaper for a 4 seat car than a 2 seat car, and with cheaper insurance more people will buy the car, even if it only has tiny back seats. The rear seats on my mom's Mini cooper come right up to the back of the front seats, and are only suitable if your legs are as thin as a piece of paper.

Its crazy!

^^^ good answer, I like them more for when you're hauling people around, you can put the people you don't like in the back as well.
