Why do Australia get movies (in cinema and dvd/blu-ray) so much later than other

countries? I know it sounds strange but this is one of the worst things about living in Australia is that alot of other countries have movies released in cinema and Blu-ray months and months before we do. Why?? It is not fair!!
 
By movies, you must mean Hollywood films. Simple supply and demand. Movies either open in the US or in Great Britain first, this is where demand is highest(more people willing to pay more to see them). Then they go to mainland Europe and Canada, parts of Asia follow, then Australia. It's just the way business works. Highest areas of revenue get higher priority. Works the other way around too. Australian movies barely ever make their way to US theatres and are always in limited showings. DVD/Blu-rays have to be imported.
