why are cruises to alaska more expensive? may and sept are cheaper but...

...would it be too cold for seniors then? are there warm viewing areas on board if you have an inside cabin
 
Same thing I'm wondering, I guess since they have to risk icebergs on the way or simply because of the views

cruises to Alaska, as far as I've been told, only run in the Spring and Summer as it's warmer. in the fall and winter they do Mexico routes. like the Carnival Spirit that does Mexico itineraries until April then it does Alaska and Hawaii routes.
