where to do a software update on a 1st gen iphone then unlock it?

i live in cebu city philippines. i have an unlocked 1st gen iphone. i have used it in china,thailand,canada,korea,and phils. it works great but it has the orgininal 1.1.4 version software on it. i would like to update it with the new software i think it is 2.1 or something like that but i am scared it will lock the phone and i dont know how to unlock it. does anybody know where in cebu city i can get this done for me?

Is your iPhone permanently unlocked?If so the lock status will not return back.I have unlocked my iPhone using the permanent remote unlocking solution from Simpleunlocking.com and followed the free unlock instructions from Mobileunlockguide.com
Since it is a permanent one I can upgrade to the newer version.
