When a guy stops flirting and only talks about topics of interest?

At first he flirted heavy and now we only talk about topics of interest and the convo is great. Ever since that day he said that he wanted out friendship to grow and wanted to know me better he stopped heavy flirting and would call me beautiful or sweet on rare occasions. Then when texting he won't put hearts anymore. What's the deal?

I think he still likes you but right now he's more focused on getting to know the real you, things you like to do, and to see if there are common interests. I bet he'll start flirting again when you two start dating. Don't worry about it.
