With all of kungfu, tae Kwon do, karate, etc can you describe them? Such as what they are like and what they are meant for.
I wanted to start doing karate but when I thought about it, there's all those different kinds. So please help and tell me all the different kinds and what you do in all of them, and which one you suggest :) thanks!

Ignore above me. Kung Fu is an umbrella term for 500 Chinese martial arts. All of which were created for life protection. Taekwondo is an umbrella term for nearly 75 Korean martial arts, all of which were created for life protection. Karate is an umbrella term for some 50 styles of Japanese and Okinawan fighting styles, all of which were created for life protection. They are all complete, and cover ground fighting, stand up fighting, grappling, striking, and everything you can think of to damage the human body. You learn it all.

@! I defy you to name one technique in MMA that is not found in the arts named above. You cant, because MMA is the children's game version of serious arts.

Fake? Then I guess MMA created itself. MAN! You are off. Remove all the techniques in Muay Thai and BJJ that are found in Karate, Kung Fu, and TKD, guess what you would have? Nothing.

When are you going to accept MMA is a mere game.

I suggest no one listen to Jackie, he has no understanding of what he calls "Karate" It is not an art, it covers over 50 arts.

What does he think "Karate" was created for? Does he know countless people have been using it for centuries? My old instructor was a policeman for 27 years, he used his art almost on a daily basis. You children and your opinions need some serious evidence to back them.

@Alexx, so how does that relate to the question at hand? Did you even read the question?

lol kung fu would contain allot of kicks and punches incorperated into tae kwan do, karate is part of a bigger art and is japenese hand fighting and kicking but they don't generate the power kung fu and tae kwan do kicks can

karate would be the last thing i would want to know in a fight and will get your ass handed to you half the time, kung fu is great if you can find a school, tae kwan do is great if your instructor teaches you where to hit and hand fighting too

ignore both alexx and ! they are both the same account, if they knew any thing about martial arts they would know all the techniques in mma can be found kung fu, or even karate or tkd. but like children they are in denial of the facts.

kung fu consists of over 300 styles. karate consist of about 50 and tkd about 75. i seriously doubt alexx has even seen a quarter of them.

most of them contain both stri, ing and grappling as well as stand up and ground and many include weapons. traditional styles dont differentiated between them unlike sport styles. if mma was a complete system they would include weapons and weapon defenses, but they focus on a sport with rules and illuminate techniques. unlike martial arts which dont remove techniques due to rules. there are hundreds of technqiues removed by sport styles including small circle jujutsu.

few fights in the street go to the ground less then 40%, for several reasons, one of them is people tend to jump into street frights and fighting on the ground is the last thing you want to do

alexx you know crap, all tma evolve, it is even written in books going back to the 1800's that the evolve.
you should try reading once in a while alexx you did learn how to read right, they should be teaching you this in your present grade, which is 2nd for you.
