What type of dvd burner will work in an old compaq evo 510? Sata or pata or ide?

computer has standard rom drive with 512ram and 40gb hard can't find the type of interface for the cd/dvd drive anywhere!

pata and ide are the same. you should get an ide your system looks old.

look at your motherboard. find out which cable goes to dvd drive. and buy that type of drive.
