what joking things to put in forces shoe boxes?

It's funny but still useful-- Flea collar.

My son is in Afghanistan right now. I thought it was funny when he asked me to send him flea collars.
 
maybe a card, or something that represents them being over seas, like a toy boat. or something you think they would like.
