What is the name/purpose of the giant dish antenna outside of Europa Park?

There is a massive lattice dish antenna just outside of Europa park in Germany. It dominates the landscape, in is much larger than dishes found in the Very Large Array. I remember there being several smaller dish antenna similar to those at the VLA scattered around, but have not been able to find any information about any of these antenna. Could they be Radio Telescopes? That might make more sense.
